Find out more about “unforeseen circumstances” here.

Muse had to cancel several gigs on their tour in February 2026. Appearances in the United Arab Emirates, South Africa and India are affected. What’s behind it?

Cancellation due to “unforeseen reasons”

The band announced through organizer Live Nation that the planned concerts could not take place “due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.” The tour was originally scheduled to include four stops: the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on February 4th, Johannesburg on February 7th, Cape Town on February 11th and Bengaluru on February 14th.

However, the group around Matthew Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard was not specified. The statement simply continued: “This was a very difficult decision that we did not make lightly.” Muse also let ticket holders know: “We are sincerely sorry for everyone who purchased tickets and we thank you for your understanding.”

Current status: Working on the tenth studio album

The band is currently working on their tenth studio album. The last album “Will Of The People” was released in 2022. As a first taste of the new material, the band released the song “Unravelling” last year. Listen here:

Bassist announces new music for 2026

Bassist Chris Wolstenholme spoke about Muse’s future plans in an interview. “I think we’ll start working on the next record pretty soon,” he once told NME. He further predicted: “I would guess that there will be a new album in 2026, barring any disasters.” Ever the professional, however, he didn’t let himself look further into the cards.
