Rob Geus finds it dirty and unhygienic that Linda de Mol allows dogs to sit on the counter in the Gooische Vrouwen series. “Then I think: not fresh.”
After the weekend the time has come: the new program of Rob Geus, the hygiene freak who is making his return to SBS 6, starts in the time slot of the Hansler soap. He is thrilled to be on television again. In recent years he has stood on the sidelines as a viewer and was sometimes eager to intervene.
Unsanitary
What Rob has particular difficulty with? The drama series Gooische Vrouwen by Linda de Mol, the sister of his boss John de Mol. “Of course, when I look at Gooische women and I see a dog lying on the counter, I think: not fresh,” he says in the VARA guide. “I sometimes watch and laugh about it, but it’s not my thing.”
As a candidate in Expedition Robinson, he was not bothered by his fear of contamination. “In the morning you were woken up by parrots and I was happy if we caught one fish a day. That puts life into perspective. I did not look at hygiene during that expedition. If you participate in that, you know that it is not the same as at home.”
The Allies
Besides Gooische Vrouwen, what else does he think is unhygienic television? He again mentions a title from SBS 6. “At De Bondgenoot everything happens in one room. That is a student house squared and you may wonder about hygiene.”
Which TV star is Rob’s favorite? “I am a big fan of Humberto Tan. He seems warm. But for me the very best TV interviewer is Ivo Niehe. Ivo is The King of television.”
TheKing
So according to Rob, Ivo is the TV king, but why? “His warmth and always so well prepared, great. When it comes to interviewing, he far exceeds everyone in the Netherlands. More than competent. Ivo can come visit us sometime.”
What an honor.
