The King Colis pop-up store that opened this week has gathered long queues in Helsinki’s Kamppi shopping center. In the store, you have been able to buy yourself mystery packages, which contain abandoned and lost e-commerce shipments. The customer does not know the contents of the package in advance.

One of the people queuing for the pop-up store is podcast and radio host Niko Saarinen. Saarinen told On his Tiktok accountthat he was given mystery packages for 180 euros. Saarinen showed his followers a fraction of the contents of the packages, he hasn’t opened all the packages yet.

– There was found a bodysuit, a women’s slaughter dress and various things and parts that are apparently related to motoring, Saarinen recounts the contents of the packages to Iltalehte by phone.

– I don’t even have a driver’s license because it didn’t come in handy, Saarinen laughs.

In addition to these, large patchwork overalls and a t-shirt have been revealed in the packages.

– Let’s just say that there are no gold bars and no iPhone yet, says Saarinen.

The last mentioned are things that Saarinen would like to open from the packages.

– If the alternative is to find a gold bar and a costume, I think that quite a few Finns would probably want a gold bar, says Saarinen.

Saarinen says that the body went to his female friend.

– He was really excited about it, it was suitable for his measurements.

The dress also found its owner.

– My mother likes to sew, she wants to make herself a nightgown out of a bloody dress, Saarinen laughs.

Saarinen says that he is trying to find suitable owners for the products, but some will remain for his use.

– I would never have bought them, but now that I have them, I have to come up with something, Saarinen admits.

Saarinen describes the pop-up store as a social phenomenon that he caught on to. Actually, he wasn’t looking for anything.

– A confusing concept, so I had to test it, he describes.

– Now when you see that queue in Kamppi, you realize that people go along with such madness, Saarinen states.

He also sees the phenomenon as a contradiction when it comes to overconsumption.

– But on the other hand, if the postal packages did not end up being sold, they would be disposed of and destroyed. On the other hand, a discarded package can get a new purpose and life. There is also a lot of good in it, even though there are probably a lot of questionable things in it, Saarinen says.
