Coach Brama Traoré reached the round of 16 at the Africa Cup with Burkina Faso. That wasn’t enough for those responsible. That’s why they now drew conclusions.

The Burkina Faso Football Association has parted ways with national coach Brama Traoré after the disappointing performance at the Africa Cup of Nations. Traoré’s team lost 3-0 to Ivory Coast in the round of 16, which did not meet the federation’s expectations.

The association’s chairman Oumarou Sawadogo said: “The decision was taken because the results fell far short of the expectations of our national team in the continental tournament.” Traoré and his team won against Equatorial Guinea and Sudan in the group stage, but lost against Algeria. It is currently unclear who will succeed Traoré.
