Paul Spierings has won a stage in the Dakar Rally for the second day in a row. The driver from Sint-Michielsgestel was too strong for Yasir Seaidan from Saudi Arabia at the end on Wednesday. And that on an emotional day for Spierings, namely the date of his mother’s death.
Spierings wants to win three stages in total. Tuesday was his first day success and a day later it remained exciting for a long time. Only at the end of the stage did he take the win.
The new victory means that team manager Jasper Deijsselberg will shave his head, a promise he made before the stage.
