Exciting weeks for Klaas de Vries. The Meppel councilor is on a list of thirteen candidates for the title of Best Local Administrator 2025.
De Vries thus represents the province of Drenthe during the national election. Directors from all provinces and the water board are selected annually based on their administrative qualities, leadership and impact.
De Vries has been an alderman in Meppel on behalf of Sterk Meppel since 2022. He is responsible, among other things, for finance, economy, employment and public space. He is seen as an analytical and accessible director who works effectively. “With his approach, he has put the finances of the municipality of Meppel in order and there is opportunity to invest again,” said the people who nominated him.
You can vote until Monday, January 26. A week and a half later, the winner will be announced during the Best Driver event in Amsterdam.
