In addition to delegates from 12 countries, the organization, which will be held for the first time in Türkiye, will also attend the International Cycling Union (UCI) President and International Olympic Committee (IOC) Member David Lappartient and the President of the European Cycling Union (UEC) Enrico Della Casa.
Apart from Türkiye, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania and Serbia will take part in the congress; The topics of strengthening regional cooperation, harmonization of sports management and organization standards, young athlete development, training programs and integration of Balkan cycling with international structures will be discussed. Long-term development strategies and sustainable championship organizations of the Balkan Cycling Union, which is the basic structure that ensures the coordination of cycling in the Balkans, will also be on the agenda.
Speaking about the Balkan Cycling Union Congress, Emin Müftüoğlu, President of the Turkish Cycling Federation and the Balkan Cycling Union, said, “Our main priority is to strengthen the institutional capacity of cycling in the Balkan geography, to ensure full compliance with international standards and to increase joint programs for the development of young athletes.
