Burak Yılmaz, in his post on the social media platform of the US-based company X, stated that he felt the need to make a statement due to the red card he received and the images that emerged afterwards.
Stating that he is aware that his stance on the field as a coach should set an example for the players and young people, Yılmaz said:
“I know that there are points where I need to improve in order to remain calmer and more prudent in such moments, and I want it to be known that I work hard off the field for this. I do not want my team’s efforts and extraordinary struggle on the field to be overshadowed by this incident. I am proud of my players for the stance they showed on the field today. I apologize to our community, my players, the football public and all our referees.”
