Robbie Williams gives fans hope: an appearance with Take That is just a question of when.
Robbie Williams has reignited the hopes of many fans. In a new interview, the 51-year-old confidently stated that he was “sure” that he would perform with his former boy band Take That again in the future – but at the same time he also made it clear that there were currently no concrete plans for this.
From boy band to solo megastar
The singer, who rose to fame as a member of Take That in 1990, left the boy band in 1995 and went on to embark on an unprecedented solo career. With global hits like “Angels,” “Let Me Entertain You,” “Feel” and “Eternity/The Road to Mandalay,” he shaped an entire pop generation. His recordings have sold more than 77 million copies worldwide, plus 18 BRIT Awards – a record in Great Britain. He also made history in 2006 when his “Close Encounters Tour” sold 1.6 million tickets in a single day.
Not now – but definitely in the future
Despite this success, Take That remains an important part of his musical life. Williams emphasizes in an interview with “BBC Radio 2” that for him a joint appearance is not a question of “if”, but of the right time. However, he will not take part in the current new edition of the legendary “Circus” tour, with which Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen are currently touring as a trio. “I thought it was great last time. But not now,” he said in an interview with host Scott Mills.
The successful reunion from 2009
Williams particularly fondly remembers the year 2009, when he returned to the band. The joint “Circus” tour convinced him so much that he became part of Take That again in 2010 for the album “Progress” and the following live shows. The concerts are still among the most successful in the band’s history.
New album in focus
However, Williams’ current focus is on his solo career. After a postponement, the Briton is now announcing his new album “Britpop” for February 6th, 2026.
At the same time, he closely follows the success of his former bandmates, whose tickets are selling extremely well. His clear statement on “BBC Radio 2” leaves little doubt: Robbie Williams sees himself on stage again with Take That. Exactly when this will happen remains unclear – but the announcement alone is enough to reignite the comeback rumors.
