After the favorable wind year 2023 (8 TWh offshore wind production) and the average year 2024 (7.1 TWh), annual production in 2025 was lower than average, “due to a more limited wind supply and despite the high availability of the parks”.
The Belgian offshore wind farms (Mermaid, Nobelwind, Belwind, Seastar, Northwind, Rentel, C-Power, Northwester 2 and Norther) have a total capacity of 2,262 MW or 2.262 GW. Belgium is in the European top five in terms of installed offshore wind energy, after the United Kingdom (16.6 GW), Germany (9.1 GW), the Netherlands (4.7 GW) and Denmark (2.7 GW).
