Wallonia makes Latin compulsory for all students: “This way they will learn French more easily and think more logically”

From September 2027, every Walloon secondary school student will receive two hours of Latin per week. The driving force behind the reform is Education Minister Valérie Glatigny (MR). She believes that thanks to the classical language, students will learn French more easily and think more logically.
