The police have arrested two people suspected of being involved in a stabbing in Eindhoven. That stabbing took place on September 1 last year, on the 18-Septemberplein. Three asylum seekers aged 16, 17 and 17 from Syria were injured. One of them had to go to a hospital. He had a serious stab wound in his side.

A day later, a 21-year-old man from Alphen aan den Rijn was arrested, it was announced on Tuesday. He’s still stuck. Last weekend, a second suspect was arrested: a 16-year-old boy from Utrecht. He is also in custody and is being interrogated.

The police were alerted that evening of September 1 at half past twelve: someone had allegedly been robbed of a fat bike in the area of Kanaaldijk-Zuid in Eindhoven. When officers arrived there, they found the three boys there. They had probably been stabbed.

This may have happened a few minutes earlier on the 18-Septemberplein (and not on the Tongelresestraat in Eindhoven, which was previously reported).

It may also have been one of the boys who was robbed of a fat bike. Even two such bicycles were allegedly stolen.
