Drouwenerzand amusement park is also all about innovation this season. After a year full of theming and a new look, the focus in 2026 will be on new attractions. Blikvanger is a brand new family roller coaster, with a special family story.

Since 2025, Janna Moespot-Van der Linde and Kevin Moespot have been officially at the helm of the park in Drouwen. Under their leadership, the new roller coaster will be named GJ Mining & Co. A name that may sound like a mining adventure to visitors, but means much more to the Moespot-Van der Linde family. “The attraction is named after Gert-Jan, Janna’s brother,” says Kevin Moespot. “He died in an accident at the age of eight, near Drouwenerzand. He would now be 38.”

The story of the roller coaster is completely thematized. Gert-Jan returns as a comic miner, a bit mischievous. “He used to be a real rascal,” Moespot laughs. “That fits perfectly with the story we want to tell.”
