The busy sports weekend in Egmond starts today with the iconic 38 kilometer beach race. Mountain bikers ride from the boulevard in Egmond to the Noordpier in IJmuiden and back again. The race starts at 11 a.m. and the last recreational rider must arrive no later than 2:30 p.m.

51st edition of the Half Marathon
The half marathon is on the program tomorrow. The race starts at 12.16 pm with the start of the female runners, followed by the male runners at 12.25 pm. The last holidaymaker must arrive no later than 3:30 PM. The route runs from the boulevard in Egmond over the beach to Castricum aan Zee and then goes back through the dunes to Egmond.
From 12:00 noon the event can be followed live on NH, on television, online and via social media. A compilation of the event will be shown at 5:20 PM and will be repeated every hour thereafter.
In any case, record holder Jaap Wit is looking forward to it and will give some tips on how to survive a harsh Halve van Egmond.
