A man and a woman got into a fight with the police in Hulten on Friday morning after their car ended up in a ditch. A baton and pepper spray were used during the struggle. A police officer was injured.
The accident happened around 9:30 am on the Rijksweg. Officers received a report that a vehicle had ended up in a ditch. At the scene they found a man and a woman who had crawled out of the car and were staggering around. When officers tried to help them, both reacted aggressively and threateningly.
A fight broke out between the suspects and the officers. According to police, the woman joined the struggle and was kept at a distance with a baton. The man was eventually arrested with the help of pepper spray and violence. The woman has also been arrested.
An initial saliva test later showed that both suspects were under the influence of drugs. One of the officers was injured and taken to the emergency room for treatment.
The man and woman have been taken to the police station and are being questioned there. A recovery company removed the car from the ditch and removed it.
