The number of blood donations fell slightly compared to the previous year, but that is not a problem according to Belgian Red Cross-Flanders. “Blood in hospitals is being used more and more efficiently,” it said. “We are pleased that we received a remarkable number of new donors last year.”
The many newcomers are easy to explain. “Among other things, the Bloedserieus campaigns in which students can donate to colleges and universities have attracted many donors.”
