The soccer boss lashed out at the Swiss media about the New Year’s Eve tragedy.

At the turn of the year, Crans-Montana came to the attention of Finns as well. A fire broke out in the bar of the Swiss community during the New Year’s celebrations. There are at least 40 victims.

Crans-Montana is a familiar village for the Swiss football club FC Sion. Club owner Christian Constantine knows the place well, because he comes from right next to it. Constantin, interviewed by Blick, was shocked by the tragedy.

– I couldn’t understand it when I saw the news in the morning, Constantin said for Blick.

FC Sion has been camping in Crans-Montana during the summer since 1990.

A so-called flare-up may have taken place in the Le Constellation bar. PDO

According to eyewitnesses, the fire at Le Constellation bar was started by jet candles attached to champagne bottles. The cause of the ignition has not been confirmed, but it is suspected that the fire started from a rapid explosion caused by a flame.

– Pyrotechnic products are prohibited outdoors. Our club is fined every time they are lit during matches. It’s crazy that they were allowed to smoke indoors in a bar. Why didn’t the adults intervene? Constantin scowled.

Blick’s news included a video showing how the party continued even though the bar’s roof structures were already on fire. Many filmed the situation with their cell phones.

– I miss common sense. Is this how adults raise youth? The fire was filmed on cell phones, and no one understood how dangerous the situation was. People don’t seem to care about the risks. That’s why there are more skiing accidents all the time, Constantin continued his amazement.

In addition to the fatalities, more than 100 people were injured in the fire.
