German public prosecutor opens investigation into “sabotage” after power outage in Berlin: 26,000 households still without electricity

The federal prosecutor in Germany has launched an investigation into the arson that led to widespread power outages in Berlin last weekend. On Tuesday morning, at least 26,000 households and more than 1,200 companies in the German capital were still without electricity. The attack was claimed by the so-called Vulkangruppe, a left-wing extremist group that authorities say has acted in protest against the fossil fuel industry.
