Both municipalities, which work together with anti-slip measures, report this in a press release.
“Unfortunately, due to the lack of deliveries of road salt, we can only sprinkle the main routes at the moment. We do our best to keep the cycle paths free of snow by brushing them. Be careful and keep in mind that roads and cycle paths are slippery than normal.”
Rijkswaterstaat is given priority
Because gritting is now taking place for a long time throughout the country, and snow has also fallen after the frost period, deliveries to Rijkswaterstaat are given priority. “We as municipalities therefore have to wait longer for the delivery of salt.”
The municipalities indicate that their priority currently lies in clearing snow and preventively spreading the established main routes, district access roads and cycle paths. Both municipalities expect to have their stock replenished tomorrow, or Thursday at the latest.
