In the midst of a scenario of high international tension after the capture of Nicolás Maduro by US forces, in an operation ordered by Donald Trump, President Javier Milei expressed himself again through his social networks. From his personal Instagram account, the president shared a previously circulated video montage, accompanied by a message with an ironic tone: “Be careful what you ask for… It can come true… VLLC!”

The video recovers a past statement by Maduro in which he challenges the United States: “I’ll wait for you here in Miraflores, don’t be late in arriving cowards,” alluding to a possible military intervention. Next, the montage shows images of US troops arriving in Venezuela, simulating an invasion that is linked to the recent operation that led to the arrest of the Chavista leader and his transfer to New York. The sequence is set to music with “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC.

The publication was interpreted as a gesture of support for US action and as an implicit criticism of Maduro, whom Milei has questioned on repeated occasions. The closing of the post with the acronym “VLLC”, common in the President’s messages, reinforces the celebratory tone of the publication.

It is not the first time that Milei uses her social networks to speak out on international political issues. His alignment with Trump has differentiated him from other presidents in the region, such as Lula da Silva and Gustavo Petro, who expressed their rejection of the operation, considering it a violation of Venezuelan sovereignty.

The post was spread in a sensitive context, with Maduro facing charges for narcoterrorism in the United States and with an uncertain political scenario in Venezuela. While for the Argentine Government the episode represents support for its ideological position, critical sectors questioned the diplomatic impact of this type of public interventions.
