She doesn’t know why she was elected as the new Secretary General, but she is proud. “I am very happy with the opportunity to do that,” Ellen continues. “I was also very surprised when the election committee that is working on this called. I am looking forward to taking on that position. I am a bit proud.”
Her mother, who still lives in Wulpen (Koksijde), is also over the moon. “I think every parent is proud when the children are doing well. Whatever they do. Of course I am proud. But that is not my contribution.”
