Dutch emergency services have recorded the highest number of fireworks victims in years: two deaths and almost 1,240 injuries

The emergency departments of Dutch hospitals helped the highest number of fireworks victims in years during the New Year. A total of 474 patients were admitted with injuries caused by fireworks. That is 29 percent more than a year earlier and the highest number since the turn of 2016 to 2017, according to an inventory by the SafetyNL knowledge center.
