Anyone who thought that the police in Waalwijk will be on the road with a real snowmobile these days will be disappointed. The photo that the police shared on Instagram on Sunday is not real. The officers are therefore less well prepared for the winter conditions than they would have you believe.
Brabant has to deal with snow these days, a lot of snow. Then a snowmobile can come in handy. The Langstraat police (Waalwijk, Gilze Rijen, Dongen, Loon op Zand) shared a photo on Sunday showing a snowmobile. They also wrote the text that they were well prepared for the winter conditions.
It now appears that the photo was taken using AI. “It was a joke between some colleagues,” said a police spokesperson. “It has been indicated that such a photo may raise questions. We will discuss this further internally.”
