American firefighter rescues dog from frozen lake: ‘He didn’t make a sound’

A firefighter from the US state of Rhode Island is receiving high praise after a heart-warming rescue. The man crawled across a frozen lagoon on New Year’s Day to rescue a dog that had fallen through the ice. Both the firefighter and the golden retriever, named Phoenix, eventually reached shore safely.
