Wendy van Dijk must feel incredibly passed over by John de Mol. And to make matters worse, her successor Hélène Hendriks also likes that studio entertainment. “I want more!”

That’s how you are hotthat’s how you are not: Hilversum is ruthless. Wendy van Dijk also has to believe it. She was once considered an A-presenter, but has now been placed in the B-group by John de Mol. In fact, he has severely demoted her from SBS 6 to Net5, where she will present exactly one show next season: So You Think You Can Dance.

Not much contact

Who will take over Wendy’s jobs in the spotlight on SBS 6? Hélène Hendriks. She started The Winner Takes It All yesterday, a program that would normally have gone to Wendy.

Hélène says she did not ask for tips from show presenters like Wendy. “Maybe I should have done it and it turns out afterwards that I definitely should have done it, but I didn’t do it and I have to be very honest: I don’t have much contact with my colleagues from that side either,” she says in Show news.

‘Tastes like more!’

How hard does it all hit Wendy? So Hélène has no idea about that. They don’t call. And Hélène is too busy for that, because she flirts with even more studio jobs. “I admit: this of course leaves us wanting more, but we have to see whether it all fits into the agenda.”

Presenting such a big show? According to Hélène, it is not all that difficult. “It’s just a lot of fun and very relaxed. What’s different is that you are in a very large arena and there is a lot of pressure on those candidates. I supervise that a bit.”

Look and feel

Celebrity photographer William Rutten thinks that it is nice for the candidates of programs such as The Winner Takes It All that Wendy has ended up on a sidetrack. “I also think it is very nice for the candidates that she is there, you know. It is a completely different thing look and feel.”

He continues: “Someone like Wendy van Dijk who has been doing it for so many years, you might also be a little afraid of that, and now it’s just all people who are doing it for the first time, so to speak. You also notice that in the program, that it has a very friendly, fun atmosphere.”

What does Victor think?

TV critic Victor Vlam, regular guest on Hélène’s talk show, has mixed feelings about her studio show. “The duels are exciting and entertaining, but the judging of The Winner Takes It All sometimes feels a bit arbitrary. It is quite difficult to compare two completely different genres,” he writes. X.

“Furthermore: nice show. There is potential. The game element of The Floor works well in this program. I am genuinely curious whether Tristan will win a third time next week.”
