The hometown of the deceased Pate Mustajärvi plans to honor his memory.
The city of Tampere reportthat it honors a music legend Pauli “Pate” Mustajärvi with commemorative lighting. Tampere was Mustajärvi’s hometown.
Harri Hinkan the picture he took of Lake Mustajärvi is projected onto the wall of the Tammerkoski power plant. The commemorative lighting will take place on the 2nd to the 4th. January from 16:00 to 00:00.
– Pauli Mustajärvi was an inseparable part of the cultural history of Tampere and the story of Manserock. With the commemorative lighting, the city honors the legend of Finnish rock and his life’s work. This also offers the townspeople the opportunity to stop by the Mustajärvi memorial, Tampere city event manager Saara Saartinen says in the announcement.

Mustajärvi is also honored on the weekend at Ylen Pate Mustajärvi – Suomirock legend –in the memorial broadcast, which is sent from Tampere-talo.
The memory of Mustajärvi has also been honored by artists, among others Don Reindeerwho made the artist a graffiti piece for Kerava. In the black-and-white painting, behind the musician is a thunder forest, a rock and an inscription about his life years 1956–2025. The work divided the opinions of Finns, as some thought the painting did not resemble Mustajärvi at all.
Mustajärvi, known as Popeda’s frontman, died on Boxing Day at the age of 69. He was diagnosed with a tumor in October.
