Skiing couple Johanna Matintalo–Lauri Vuorinen has stayed at the Tour de Ski in Toblach in the same hotel room.
Vuorinen stopped the Tour after Wednesday’s third stage and went home.
– Lauri didn’t feel quite normal, Matintalo commented.
Are you afraid that you will get sick?
– I’m not worried. I know what the situation is. It’s not like I should lose sleep at night, Matintalo answered.
Speaking of sleeping at night: can you stay alone in Val di Fiemme?
– The rooms haven’t been assigned yet, but I guess so, Matintalo laughed.
Iltalehti could not reach Lauri Vuori on Thursday.
– Let’s hope there is no flu that causes long-term harm. Of course, that’s not the case, Iltalehti’s skiing expert Pirjo Muranen states.
It would have been good for Vuorinen to compete on Saturday if there is no illness.
– Many sprinters went to the Tour with the intention of seeing and being able to compete on the Olympic sprint track in February.
Muranen estimates that Vuorinen did not recover as hoped in the Tour competition rumba and that is why he put his skis in the bag.
– Now, different kinds of movements on the home tracks in Rovaniemi.
