The basketball players from FC Bayern Munich said goodbye to the Rostock Seawolves in 2025 with their ninth BBL victory in a row.

Head coach Svetislav Pesic’s team clearly won 85:67 (40:31). It was the third success under the new coach, while hosts Rostock suffered their seventh defeat in their twelfth game.

The Seawolves proved to be a stubborn opponent for a long time. In the middle of the second quarter, the Munich team was already leading 32:22 after two free throws by Justinian Jessup, but then conceded nine points in a row. As the game continued until the break, the Bayern basketball players dominated the action again and once again pulled away from the Seawolves.

Strong final spurt makes Bayern cheer

But Rostock came back again. Sid-Marlon Theis scored with a three-pointer to make it 51:50 for the Seawolves, who had previously been successful from distance five times. Bayern entered the final period with just one point lead. An 18-2 run in the first five minutes of the fourth quarter ultimately paved the way for the confident BBL leaders to achieve a clear victory in the end.

One player in particular stood out for the defending champions. Andi Obst was the best thrower of the game with 29 points, the European champion hit nine of 13 shots, and his rate beyond the three-point line was also a strong 62.5 percent. D’Shawn Schwartz impressed Rostock with 21 points.
