“I was KO’d and I feared for my life.” With these words, the victim described this Friday, in the trial held at the First Section of the Provincial Court of Palm, the sensations he had after receiving, allegedly, blows to the head by the tenant of his flat in Alcúdia, who had rented a room. The prosecutor requested this Friday for the defendant seven and a half years in prison with the extenuating circumstance of drunkenness.

The events that were judged this Friday took placer about six in the afternoon on November 4, 2020 at a home in Alcúdia. An argument over housework led to a brutal assault with a thirty-centimeter machete, which was in the kitchen, on the victim’s head. The slashes left a large pool of blood.

During the hearing, the defendant said he was “very sorry” for what happened. Although he assured that it was the landlord who had rented him the room who had allegedly used the knife against him and He attributed his injuries to a fall resulting from a push.

His version was refuted by another witness, who had another rented room. “The knife was always in the kitchen,” he noted.

For its part, a forensic specified that the stabs inflicted on the victim in the head “they could have been deadly if they went deeper”pointed out the doctor.

For his part, the defendant, in exercising his right to the last word in court, expressed his regret in a very particular way. “If I had wanted to kill him, I would kill him”, sentenced.
