A fire broke out at a pizzeria on Stationsstraat in Gieten last night. The fire brigade quickly scaled up, but could no longer prevent the pizzeria from sustaining extensive damage.
The fire broke out just after 2 a.m. last night. About half an hour later, the police started an action via citizen net with a description of a suspect, but that yielded no results. A house above the building had to be evacuated, the residents could not spend the night in their house.
There are also other companies in the building where the fire broke out. A fire also broke out at the Toscana ice cream parlor on the night from Friday to Saturday and this building was also severely damaged. It is not yet known whether there is a connection between the two fires.
