A new phase has been reached in the comprehensive investigation into illegal betting activities in football. 26 suspects who were detained within the scope of the investigation were sent to the courthouse after their procedures were completed at the police station.
It was learned that Erden Timur, one of the former managers of Galatasaray, was among the names referred to the courthouse.
WHAT HAPPENED?
In the statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office on Friday, it was stated that the evidence was detected as a result of the data obtained from MASAK and legal betting sites, open source research, PFDK decisions, HTS analysis studies and examination of digital items seized from other suspects in the previous two operations.
In the statement, it was stated that as a result of this evidence, 7 suspects who were in contact with 1 detained suspect, against whom action was taken in the previous two operations, and who were considered to have suspicious financial transactions related to the criminal allegations under investigation, and 6 suspects who bet on the Kasımpaşa-Samsunspor football match on October 26, 2024, in a way that would affect the result of the provincial competition, were identified.
