Florida Panthers superstar Matthew Tkachuk28, will return to his team’s lineup in the near future.

Tkachuk has returned to the Panthers’ practice squad, which means he’s nearing game fitness.

– That [harjoitteleminen jäällä] felt good. Better than I expected, Tkachuk said NHL website by.

Tkachuk underwent surgery in August. He has been sidelined for the entire early season.

The star forward was expected to return to training strength at the end of December. It was long believed that Tkachuk would return to the playing lineup on Dec. 2 when the Panthers host an outdoor game in Miami.

Panthers head coach Paul Maurice however, considers this unlikely.

– He has to pass many tests before that. The biggest question is whether we have enough time. He might be well enough by then, but I’m not going to guess, Maurice stated and continued:

“He hasn’t played in six months, and while it would be great to see him in that game, we need him healthy for the rest of the season.” The decision is not mine, but the player’s and the doctors’.

Tkachuk has played a significant role in the Panthers winning the championship in the last two seasons.
