The first week of holidays is already over and for many people there was undoubtedly plenty to do, including Christmas dinners and skating fun. Skating on natural ice is no longer possible for the time being, but are you looking for inspiration to fill the week? We have listed a number of activities for you.

If you have not registered yet, you are no longer able to participate. But perhaps you would like to see tough guys in Norg and the surrounding area compete in the Drenthe 200, a mountain bike marathon of 200 kilometers. The Drenthe 200 is held annually between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. This year is the eighth edition. The racers will leave Norg at 6.15 am. The finish of the first riders is expected there around 12.30 pm.

In the Bargerveen you can walk with a guide. This New Year’s Eve walk departs from the Veenloopcentrum at 1 p.m. Along the way, guides provide explanations about the Bargerveen and participants get something tasty along the way. Afterwards, oliebollen will be ready. You can register and receive information about the costs via [email protected].

In Beilen, a collection fair is being held at the De Raat neighborhood building, organized by a group of collectors of stamps, coins, cards, pins and miniature tractors, among other things, so there is plenty to see. People can look, exchange and discover. There is also the option to have your own collection appraised. The collector’s fair is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and admission is free.

The Drenthe 1000 is in full swing until Wednesday. There will be the Winter Fair at RTV Drenthe for three days at the same time and this Monday is the last day to walk in. Everyone is welcome to come and have a look at the Beilerstraat in Assen until 5 p.m.

Not enough of natural ice cream yet? Ice cream of a slightly different order can be seen this Tuesday in Orvelte. On the Brink, two artists show their talent when it comes to making ice sculptures. Special sculptures are made from large blocks of ice. Children can also work with smaller pieces of ice themselves. The activity is from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

A colorful procession of decorated hikers departs from Zuidlaren at the end of the afternoon. The illuminated tractors form a special procession that passes through the head of Drenthe. It is an initiative of the Northern Netherlands Farmers’ Partnership. About 75 hikers are participating and the departure is at 5 p.m. from Zuidlaren.
