Un violent 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit the northeastern coast of Taiwan. According to the island’s Central Meteorological Administration, the earthquake occurred at 11.05pm local time (4.05pm in Italy) with its epicenter in the sea, at a depth of 73 kilometers off the coast of the county of Yilan.

The spectacular and scary images from surveillance cameras show the Taipei 101 and the buildings of the capital swayed dramatically during the quake. Despite the great power released, at the moment the authorities report no victims or significant structural damage.
