‘Gerda the bitch’, ‘Police in jail’… These are just some of the texts that residents of Hazepootstraat in Meise, Flemish Brabant, found on their facade on Christmas Eve. A 68-year-old man, who is not unknown to his neighbors and has previously caused a nuisance, now appears to be responsible. The messages targeted neighbors, the police, a local doctor and even the mayor. “These acts must stop,” responds Mayor Gerda Van den Brande (N-VA), who has since filed a complaint against the man.
