The weather institute reports that the slippery conditions are due to freezing of wet road sections and freezing fog. The fog and therefore the slippery conditions spread from the north towards the south.
“In dense fog, visibility is less than 200 meters and the fog can occur suddenly. Both the fog and the slippery conditions can last well into the morning,” said the KNMI.
The warning applies from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. Code yellow is not in force on the Wadden Islands and in the provinces of Zeeland, Brabant and Limburg.
