The rock band Popeda remembers the band’s former frontman Pate Mustajärvi.
The group has published pictures of the singer who died on Boxing Day.
The energetic singer appears in the black and white pictures.
– Suomirock’s great voice has fallen silent. The songs remain in life, the caption of the Instagram post reads.
The statements are marked as “Costello, Lacu, Isopate, Olli, Alex and Ville, Miki and Mikko”.
Popeda’s lineup has changed several times over the years. The current lineup includes guitarist and songwriter Costello Hautamäki, drummer Lacu Lahtinen, keyboardist Pate Kivinen, singer Olli Herman and bassist Alex Hautamäki.
He works as the band’s tour manager, production manager and lighting designer Mikko Skyttä. Miki Ääks is a sound mixer. Ville Nenonen in turn is responsible for the monitors.

Pate Mustajärvi was a founding member of Popeda and a long-time soloist.
The band was founded in Tampere in 1977. Mustajärvi left the band in September 2023 and started a solo career.
