In the midst of Christmas celebration, the national representative for La Libertad Avanza, Juliana Santillán, was in the center of the scene after publishing a greeting that quickly became a trend on social networks due to a striking conceptual error.

Through a video broadcast on her networks, the legislator wished happy holidays and closed her message with a phrase that generated surprise, ridicule and criticism: “Happy Christmas Eve and Easter Christmas.” The expression was interpreted by thousands of users as a confusion between two central celebrations of the Christian calendar.

As numerous comments pointed out, Christmas commemorates the birth of Jesus, which is celebrated on December 25, while the resurrection of Christ is the central event of Easter, associated with Holy Week. The mixture of concepts caused a rapid viralization of the video and led to clarifications and corrections by the users themselves.

The situation escalated when the so-called “Community Notes” were activated on social network X, where historical and religious context was added to explain the difference between the Nativity and the Resurrection, two different moments within the Christian tradition.

Given the impact of the episode, which accumulated thousands of interactions and ironic comments, Santillán decided to delete the publication. The episode joins other communication missteps carried out by the deputy, who on more than one occasion was exposed for errors spread through her social networks.
