In front of the Rai headquarters in Rome, the young Manlio Viganò (Filippo Laganà) – graduated in law but with the dream of becoming the star of a big show television – works as clerk in a lively and multi-ethnic convenience store. In the shop – also a crossroads for VIPs, TV personalities and artists -, Manlio works on the show’s script which, according to him, will make him the greatest showman in Italy. One day, suddenly, Kevin Spacey appears in the shop (if himself), imaginary figure and Hollywood star – who only Manlio can see – and becomes his artistic mentor.
Between the two Thus a comical and surreal relationship is born: between arguments, reconciliations and creative impulses. There is a story of the friendship between Manlio and Kevin Nimesh (Jonis Bashir), Sri Lankan convenience store owner together with his family. Manlio, however, must not only deal with his thwarted ambitions but also with his Milanese and bourgeois family. In particular the mother Claudia (Mietta) who would like him alongside his accountant father.
To complicate everything, in addition to Kevin’s star-making tantrums, there is Samadhi (Lem Teku), the influencer girlfriendand very narcissistic, but also the varied universe that populates the shop. Bizarre customers, suspicious and always ready to distract the boy from his dreams with the most absurd requests. Will Manlio manage to transform his life into a show or will he remain trapped between the shelves foreveralong with his dreams yet to be realized?

Last September, presented the film in Lucca 1780his first American production after the scandals; the historical film does not yet have a release date in the United States. Finally, a month ago Spacey told the Daily Telegraph of no longer having a hometo live in hotel rooms (or Airbnb rooms) and to work in Cyprus as a swing singer in a club.

The microcosm where the series is set is enriched by a large number of characters which contribute to the lively and surreal tone. Like the actress Paola Tiziana Cruciani – famous face thanks to the films of her ex-husband Paolo Virzì – in the role of Veronica, Massimo Wertmüller in those of Massimo, the Tuscan comedian Enzo Paci (Robertino) and the actor and voice actor Francesco Pannofino.
Also in the cast, in small roles, is Massimo Ghini, the TG1 anchorwoman Giorgia Cardinaletti and the singers Alexia and Mietta in the role of Claudia, the protagonist’s mother. Also present Enrico Bertolino (Manlio’s father), Ludovica Bizzaglia (sister Lucrezia), Francesco Sarmiento (Tito), Rita Pilato (Rita), Claudio Pallottini (Rudi), Martina Gatto (Delia), Giulia Sorrentino (Giulia) andformer Miss Italy Denny Mendez (Denny).
