In December 2020, Transfermarkt published a pre-Christmas talent calendar for the fourth time. Over 24 days, 24 young players were portrayed by data scouts, users, sponsors and editors. What happened to the hopefuls back then? After five years and following the ninth edition of the talent calendar, we look back and see what career path the 24 players took.

Four players have a market value of 10 million euros or more, including two well-known faces from the Bundesliga: Ísak Jóhannesson (22) and Xavi Simons (22). The two are also part of a quintet that has already played over 30 international matches for the senior national team. The Dutchman also earned the highest transfer fee. Two youngsters, Turan Calhanoglu (22) and Pipi Nakai (22), currently no longer have a market value.
