From the idea of presenting art history in a less snobbish way, Hub & Spoke Audio, an American independent podcast collective, has been making the podcast since 2016 The Lonely Palette† Each episode deals with a different work of art, without giving too much information. Sometimes you think: what exactly am I listening to? But the seemingly fluttering fantasies of host Tamar Avishai always end up being a common thread. Avishai’s strength is that she does not want to tell everything about a particular work of art, but focuses on one angle. In this way she makes the work of art personal and she knows how to reveal a deeper meaning. Avishai is on maternity leave, so she’s reiterating past highlights about motherhood and women’s relationship with their bodies.
