Renan Lodi (27) is the most valuable player on the market without a club. Subject to medical examinations and contract signing, the left-back will join Clube Atlético Mineiro on a five-year deal. Lodi terminated his contract with the Saudi club Al-Hilal in September and traveled to his home country of Brazil (to the news).

The 19-time international was not considered by Al-Hilal for the Saudi Pro League squad – to his annoyance. “This situation made me think about my future. I still have many dreams in football and I would not get enough playing time this season. In recent weeks, I have tried to reverse this decision of the club and be available for all Al-Hilal matches. However, I have never received an answer as to how this situation could be resolved amicably,” Lodi explained in a statement. Both sides announced that they would consider legal action. In January 2024, the club signed him from Olympique Marseille for a fee of 23 million euros.

Now, after six and a half years, Lodi is back in Brazil, where he trained at Athletico Paranaense and became a professional. He played 68 games for the club (5 goals/8 assists). At his new club Atlético Mineiro he is the most valuable player with a market value of 12 million euros.
