Lili Genee, the wife of Wilfred Genee, is annoyed by the many adultery gossip about her husband. She says she doesn’t take it seriously, but she does snort: “They’re just sick minds!”
Wilfred Genee has been chased by adultery rumors for years and years, and most of the gossip comes from RoddelPraat. That online program is presented by Dennis Schouten, with whom the Today Inside star used to have a close friendship. In fact, that boy even attended the Geneetjes’ Christmas dinner.
‘Which apps?’
Initially, the gossip often seemed like strong stories, but in the summer Lili spoke extensively to the men of RoddelPraat and her confidence in Wilfred sounded a bit shaky. That didn’t help his case. “I have no idea. I really don’t know anything about it, darling. What kind of chat messages are those?”, she asked uncertainly.
Wilfred himself was only asked about it once in the media, namely by Marianne Zwagerman. He really pissed her off then; according to the opinion maker, the VI star started screaming and crying backstage. Since then, she has been on the same blacklist as Fidan Ekiz, who was also too critical of Wilfred once.
Sick minds
Now Lili is once again tempted to talk about the adultery rumors, this time in the Weekend. “Yes, you don’t take those kinds of gossip channels seriously, do you? They are sick minds, they see it as a revenue model.”
She continues: “They are insecure, unstable people. The people who know us laugh about it. Moreover, at a certain point people know how things really work. I don’t worry about it that much.”
Attention seeking
How do they deal with it at home? Lili: “It’s just attention seeking. Wilfred has taught me: don’t take it seriously, tall trees catch a lot of wind. This entails his job. Because Wilfred is in the spotlight, we have to make our children resilient and speak up when people cross our boundaries.”
“And Wilfred and I are really going strong, I think that is visible,” she concludes. “Every relationship has ups and downs, and we are no different in that sense.”
