Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit does not comment on the accusations against her son in a recent documentary.

Bonus Prince of Norway Marius Høibyn the trial begins next month. He is accused of rape and about 30 other crimes.
The Norwegian royals have been rather tight-lipped about the trial, but now Marius’ mother, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, King Harald and Queen Sonja commented on the charges in NRK’s recent documentary about the royal family’s year.
– Perhaps what saddens me the most is that I have received criticism about how we have handled this matter as parents and that we would not have taken this seriously. It has been difficult, says Mette-Marit.

Marius, called the Bonus Prince, can receive a 10-year prison sentence.
– You can’t prepare for something like that, Harald says in the program.
– I want to say that we sympathize with the victims. We sympathize with all those affected. We support them and hope they get better, Queen Sonja said.
It’s dark times at the Norwegian court anyway. Earlier this month, Hovi announced that Mette-Marit’s condition had deteriorated and that a lung transplant was planned for her. Mette-Marit suffers from pulmonary fibrosis. Mette-Marit has been treated in a hospital in Oslo during the fall.
