State of emergency in and around Los Angeles due to storm that poses ‘great danger’

Governor Gavin Newsom of the US state of California has declared a state of emergency in Los Angeles and surrounding districts following an exceptionally severe winter storm hitting the southern part of the state. It is expected that as much rain will fall in a few days as normally falls in several months.
