The former president of the Scuderia, interviewed by the Quotidiano Nazionale, spoke about the Super Cup and launched a dig at the F1 team: “With the mood in Maranello…”
This year, Ferrari fans cannot say they are at all satisfied with the season that ended a few weeks ago in Abu Dhabi and with Lando Norris’ first world title. Fifth place in the championship for Leclerc at 242 points, Hamilton immediately behind at 156. Fourth place in the Constructors’ World Championship after the English driver himself had predicted a second place for the red car. Now a new cycle will open with just as many new possibilities, with the hope that a good year will arrive to return to winning a World Championship that has been missing since 2007 among the drivers with Kimi Raikkonen and since 2008 among the constructors.
Montezemolo’s attack
—
In this regard, the former president (and the last to bring a title to Maranello) of Ferrari Luca Cordero di Montezemolo spoke on the pages of Quotidiano Nazionale to talk about the Italian Super Cup final between Bologna – of which he is a big fan – and Naples. On this occasion, the entrepreneur and director of the McLaren holding also made a very bitter joke about Ferrari: “If Bologna wins the Scudetto first or Ferrari wins the Formula 1 world championship? With the mood in Maranello, Bologna will go first…”. For the record, Bologna’s last championship dates back to 1964. Another crucial aspect must be underlined: the period 2008-2025 is Ferrari’s longest abstinence ever considering both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ World Championships, given that the previous “crisis” from 1983 to 1999 lasted 16 years, compared to the 17 marked by this last season without titles.
