The history of the Next Gen ATP Finals is relatively recent, given that it is a competition born in 2017, following the announcement in November 2016. Created as an event alongside the traditional Finals (but intended only for under 21s), it quickly stood out for its rather particular format, given that the matches are played best of 5 sets (as in the Slams), but with a special formula that provides set to 4 gameswith the tie-break at 3 all. There are also other peculiarities, such as the absence of let’s play again on the service, or even the killer points (dry point) expected at 40-40. The tournament does not award points valid for the ATP ranking. The Next Gen have found a favorable reception in Italy, given that the first 5 editions were played in Milan. From 2023 the tournament will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. From the same year, the age limit for participation was lowered to 20 years. Here, then, where in the ranking are all the champions in the history of the competition today.
