Taylor Momsen remembers filming The Grinch with Jim Carrey. The comedian protected the then six-year-old on set and cared for her.

Taylor Momsen reported on filming “The Grinch.” The then six-year-old actress played the girl Cindy-Lou Who alongside Jim Carrey. Now she remembered working with the comedian and how he protected her while working.

In an interview with Vulture, the now 32-year-old only had positive things to say about the collaboration at the time. Jim Carrey took her under special protection and looked after his young actress colleague. The former actress and singer can remember one scene in particular. During a scene on a wobbly sleigh, she almost fell off the vehicle. The comedian recognized the situation, energetically shouted “Cut” and checked whether the actress was okay. This moment is still very close to her today: “I always felt safe with Jim.”

Praises for one another

The “The Grinch” actress described the situation in more detail: The sleigh was standing on a spring while Jim Carrey played the Grinch in a tall and imposing manner. She fell and just had to laugh herself. However, the 60-year-old immediately stopped production and looked after the girl.

The actor also has only positive memories of the collaboration and only expressed praise for it to “Vulture”. He told the magazine: “A total professional.” It continued: “Her comedy timing was impeccable. I don’t think she ever forgot a line or missed a cue.”

Problems due to role off set

The role in “The Grinch” film gave Taylor Momsen not only good memories on set, but also negative experiences away from it. She was bullied “relentlessly,” was unable to find a connection due to many moves, and was only given the nickname “Grinch Girl.”

To this day, she still has two sides in common with the Christmas classic. On set she felt professionalism, care and closeness. At the same time, however, she was confronted with ridicule and distance.
