Marcel Brands has extended his contract as general manager of PSV by two years until mid-2029. The 63-year-old Brabander has held the position since 2022.

“I feel fit, I enjoy my work and PSV feels like my club,” he explains on the club’s website. “Together with the management team and all employees, I want to continue building a strong future.”

The big question in Eindhoven in the near future is whether coach Peter Bosz will also extend his contract, which expires in mid-2026. Technical director Earnest Stewart’s contract also does not extend far, until 2027.

With Bosz and Stewart, Brands has formed a strong and successful management trio at PSV for several years. With Phillip Cocu as top sports manager, a new link was recently added

Brands: ‘Want to move towards third star’
Brands has made his mark at PSV. From 2010 to 2018 he was technical director and after a period at Everton, Brands returned to Eindhoven as general manager in the summer of 2022.

Over the past two seasons, PSV became champions of the Netherlands, the club’s 25th and 26th national titles, and with an eleven-point lead, Eindhoven is heading for a new championship this season.

“We want to expand the Philips stadium towards the third star and get more return from our youth academy,” says Brands. “And you also want the women to become champions. In addition to the sporting aspect, it is important that we remain financially stable.”
