The police are investigating a burglary and an attempted burglary in Espoo’s prestigious Westend area.
The acts targeted two apartments. The police received a report on Monday evening and were sent to Westend to check the apartment. The police are investigating the acts as felony theft and attempted felony theft.
The suspects have not been reached. The investigation of the case is still at the very beginning.
According to information from Iltalehti, one of the apartments is the apartment of Finnish model Jenni Väänänen and ex-ice hockey player Ossi Väänänen. Iltalehti reached Jenni Väänänen, who confirmed the matter by text message.
– It is true that an attempt was made to break into our house yesterday. We weren’t at home ourselves at that moment, Väänänen writes.
– However, nothing was taken. Thanks to the quick action of the alarm system, the guard shop and the police. In our housing company, we have invested in a comprehensive set of surveillance cameras and alarm systems from the beginning. Here we could see that the investments were absolutely necessary, says Väänänen and adds that a burglary attempt leaves a bad feeling in any case.
